Petropavlivka, Novosibirsk region Participant in hostilities during the Great Patriotic War. He studied at KhDKhU (1950-52), Kharkiv State University. OM Gorky (1952-57), KhKhPI (1970-73), where the main teachers were M. Slipchenko, M. Gnoyovy, E. Zherdzytsky, A. Kuzmenko. Member of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences since 1964, was the chairman of the commission on aesthetic education of children and youth of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences (1967-91). Participant of republican, all-union and international exhibitions since 1960. Personal exhibitions: Kharkiv -1991-97. He worked as the director of the Kharkiv Children's Art School named after I. Repin (1966-97). Author of the book "Development of artistic abilities of young children" (K., 1981).
